Studio
The striking 4,000 sq.ft. building was designed by Barton Choy, Los Angeles architect. Use of wood, rock, steel and glass allows the building to blend in perfectly with the breathtaking natural landscape.
The studio also has a detached shop/garage. There are two separate bays, each with its own entrance and forced air heating system. The studio has in-floor heating on both floors powered by propane. There is a large storage basement which also houses the electrical, heating and water purification equipment.
The attention to detail was foremost in the design of the interior of this building which was constructed around large glue lam beams and arches which were recycled from the Telluride High School . They run throughout the building and add a sense of strength and class.
Upstairs there are four offices (three of which could be converted to bedrooms).
There is also a large studio or family room shown in the picture above the floor here is ash. Other floors upstairs are covered with carpet or vinyl.
The building was designed as a photograghic/print making studio, with a loading dock, a roll door, 600 amps of electricity (both single and 3 phase) 20+ phone line capability that is networked throughout the building. The downstairs floor are acid washed concrete. The large south room has full windows facing the mountains.
